(Magicians and demons)

How many of us have seen a magician; well, at least in our living rooms on TV?   Most of them are pretty harmless – sawing someone in half; pulling pigeons out of a hat, card tricks…you get the idea, right?  The hand is quicker than the eye, they say.  Some magicians however are not that innocuous and I’m speaking of illusionists such as David Copperfield who, I believe are plugged into the nether world. He came to Montreal once and a friend of mine got front row tickets.  Copperfield did the usual tricks but one really freaked out my friend.

A volunteer from the audience was required (not pre-arranged) and a man came up on stage; my friend’s eyes were riveted on this person.  Copperfield asked him to take off his tie, to which he acquiesced.  He took the tie and stood it up, all by itself.  It began to dance around on the stage; by this time my friend’s eyes were coming out of their sockets and he could hardly believe what he was seeing.

Here’s the thing – ties don’t dance.  It was an illusion he said, yeah, right.  The only illusion was that a demon was intervening and created the illusion.  There were no thin strings or force fields holding the tie up.

The Bible addresses this type occult activity and it vehemently condemns it.  There are many verses that speak about the subject and let me draw your attention to one in particular.  It is in Proverbs 6:28 “Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?”  In the Middle Eastern countries and in India this practice has been going on for centuries; it’s even catching on here as well.  But what does this imply given the straightforwardness of the above Bible verse?  It is demon intervention, plain and simple. This type of activity as the Bible says “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,  Deut 18:10.
