(Creation Evangelism)

The creation/evolution debate has been going on for a long time and only until recently has creation been brought to the forefront of the debate because of the overwhelming scientific evidence that points to a supernatural Creator. A young earth; the absence of the missing link in the fossil record, DNA; these are just some of the recently-discovered proofs that there is order in creation.

So I ask you – why not bring this topic up in a family gathering? Say something like “Did you know that earth is only 6000 years old?” When the people around the table stop laughing, you can explain to them all that we have looked at so far in our studies in creation. Explain to them that the theory of creation is far more reasonable than the theory of evolution. Don’t get caught up in scientific arguments unless you are well equipped; otherwise, bring the conversation in line with what God and His redemptive plan for humanity is about. Creation evangelism is challenging and very exhilarating because you will hear people say to you “Wow, I never heard it said like that before!” Most people just go with the flow when it comes to our origins but, here’s the thing…. People are desperately looking for answers to the following questions: “Why am I here? What am I supposed to do? What are the rules?” The Bible has answers to all these questions; may we use the resources that are made available to us to give sound Biblical answers to all these questions and may we jump on the opportunities that the Lord gives us and “Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” (1 Peter 3:15).
