(Angels)

Scripture tells us that angels are created beings “…for He commanded and they were created” Ps 148 : 5b and that they are used of God to accomplish His divine plan. There are different classes of angels, such as: archangels (Michael – Daniel 10 : 13); cherubim (Garden of Eden in Genesis 3 : 24); seraphim (The throne of God in Isaiah 6 : 2).

Angels also have differing ministries toward believers such as :

- Guarding angels – Hebrews 1 : 14, Daniel 6, 2 Kings 6 : 15-17, Acts 5 : 17-20, Acts 12 : 8-11

- Carrying angels – Lazarus in Luke 16 : 19-22

- Communicating angels – to Zacharias and Mary in Luke 1, to shepherds in Luke 2, to Joseph in Matthew 2, to the women at the empty tomb in Luke 24, to the disciples in Acts 1 and to Paul in Acts 27. Also, there were many occasions that angels were used of God in the Old Testament with messages to : Lot, Moses, Balaam, Joshua, Gideon, Manoah and David and others.

- Watching angels – Paul states that Jesus was “seen of angels” 1 Timothy 3 : 16, Peter tells us that there are “things that angels desire to look into” 1 Peter 1 : 12.

Angels will be involved in the end time events as well because all through the book of Revelation, we see angels being used by God. Do angels still appear to people today as they did in Biblical times? Good question. I personally have never been knowingly in contact with an angel but I sincerely believe that others have been from stories that I have read. But I am very careful in this area because there have been so many false accounts of divine revelation given to people supposedly from angels – Rael, Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, Ron L Hubbard, etc. God’s Word, the Bible is the only true source of divine revelation.
