TheUnpardonable Sin.
In our last study, we saw the first of
the Three Greatest Sins in the Bible; today we shall look at the second one:
the Unpardonable
Sin. The word “unpardonable” does not actually appear
in the Bible but as we will see, it is deadly.

There was once a man who came to his pastor and said that he had
committed the unpardonable sin. The
pastor sat down with this troubled person and asked him what exactly he had

said “I opposed the Word of God!!” to
which the pastor said “so did Paul and he
was saved”. Then the man said, “I denied Jesus Christ!!” “So
did Peter,” said the pastor, “and he
became one of the greatest and most effective preachers of all time.” The man continued, “Yes, but I doubted the power of Christ even after I received strong
evidence in His favour.” “But”, said the wise pastor, “So did Thomas. Wasn’t he forgiven?” The Bible records these words that Jesus
said: “Truly I say to you, all sins shall

In the final analysis, the only thing
that cannot be forgiven and that will keep us from God’s pardon is continued
unbelief. The door of redemption
still remains open; our God is gracious and Jesus said of Him in John 6:37 “All that the Father
gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not
cast out.”
